John V Palaeologus
John V Palaeologus was a Byzantine Emperor who ruled from 1341 to 1391. He was born in 1332 and became emperor at a young age after the death of his father, Andronikos III. His reign was marked by internal strife, including civil wars and challenges to his authority.
During his rule, the Byzantine Empire faced significant external threats, particularly from the Ottoman Turks. John V sought assistance from Western Europe, which led to a series of diplomatic missions. Despite his efforts, the empire continued to decline, and he struggled to maintain control over his territories.
