John Stanly
John Stanly was an American politician and a member of the United States House of Representatives. He served North Carolina's 3rd congressional district from 1789 to 1791. Stanly was a member of the Federalist Party, which supported a strong national government and commercial interests.
In addition to his political career, Stanly was also a successful businessman. He was involved in the shipping industry and played a significant role in the economic development of New Bern, North Carolina. His contributions to both politics and commerce helped shape the early years of the state.
