John Linnell
John Linnell was an English painter and a prominent member of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood, a group of artists founded in 1848. Born on June 16, 1822, he is best known for his detailed and vibrant landscapes, as well as his historical and mythological scenes. Linnell's work often reflects his interest in nature and the spiritual aspects of life.
In addition to painting, Linnell was also a skilled etcher and contributed to the revival of this art form in the 19th century. He was a mentor to other artists, including Samuel Palmer, and played a significant role in the development of the Romantic movement in British art. Linnell passed away on January 20, 1882.
