Strauss I was the father of Johann Strauss II, who would also become a renowned composer. Throughout his career, Strauss I composed over 150 waltzes, polkas, and other dance music, helping to establish the Viennese waltz as a significant cultural phenomenon in Europe. He passed away on September 25, 1849.
