Jimmy Heath
Jimmy Heath was an American jazz saxophonist and composer, born on October 25, 1926, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was known for his work on the alto and soprano saxophones and contributed significantly to the jazz genre throughout his career. Heath was a member of the Heath Brothers, a jazz group that included his brothers, Percy Heath and Teddy Heath.
Heath's career spanned several decades, during which he collaborated with many notable musicians, including Miles Davis and Art Blakey. He was also an accomplished educator, teaching at various institutions and sharing his knowledge of jazz with aspiring musicians. Jimmy Heath passed away on January 19, 2020.
