Jikji
Jikji is a historical text printed in Korea during the 14th century, specifically in 1377. It is recognized as the world's oldest extant book printed with movable metal type, predating Gutenberg's Bible by several decades. The book contains teachings of Buddhism and was created by the monk Baegun.
The full title of Jikji is "Jikji Simche Yojeol," which translates to "The Selected Teachings of Buddhist Sages." It was printed at the Heungdeok Temple in Cheongju, Korea. Today, Jikji is celebrated for its significance in the history of printing and is listed as a UNESCO Memory of the World Register item.
