Jigsaw Classroom
The Jigsaw Classroom is an educational strategy designed to promote cooperation and reduce prejudice among students. In this method, each student is assigned a specific part of a lesson or topic to learn and then teach to their peers. This encourages collaboration, as students must rely on one another to complete the overall understanding of the subject.
Developed by psychologist Elliot Aronson in the 1970s, the Jigsaw Classroom aims to create a sense of interdependence among students. By working together, they develop social skills and empathy, which can lead to improved academic performance and a more inclusive classroom environment.
