Jezero
Jezero is a crater located on the planet Mars, approximately 45 kilometers (28 miles) in diameter. It is believed to have formed around 3.5 billion years ago and is of great interest to scientists because it may have once contained a lake. The presence of ancient river delta formations within the crater suggests that water may have flowed into it, creating conditions that could have supported microbial life.
In February 2021, the Perseverance rover landed in Jezero Crater to explore its geology and search for signs of past life. The mission aims to collect rock and soil samples that may provide insights into the planet's history and its potential for habitability.
