Jeulmun Pottery Culture
The Jeulmun Pottery Culture refers to a prehistoric culture in Korea that existed from around 8000 to 1500 BCE. It is characterized by the production of distinctive pottery, often decorated with cord-marked patterns. This culture is significant for its early use of pottery, which played a crucial role in the daily lives of its people, including cooking and storage.
The Jeulmun people were primarily hunter-gatherers who also engaged in early forms of agriculture. They lived in semi-permanent settlements and relied on a variety of food sources, including wild plants and animals. The culture is considered a precursor to the later Mumun Pottery Culture, which showed advancements in pottery and agricultural practices.
