Jessica Meir
Jessica Meir is an American biologist and NASA astronaut known for her research in marine biology and space exploration. She was born on September 1, 1977, in Caribou, Maine. Meir earned her Ph.D. in marine biology from Scripps Institution of Oceanography and has conducted extensive research on the physiology of deep-sea organisms.
In 2019, Meir participated in her first space mission aboard the International Space Station (ISS), where she conducted experiments related to human health and biology. She is also recognized for her role in the first all-female spacewalk, which took place on October 18, 2019, highlighting women's contributions to science and exploration.
