Jean-Dominique Cassini
Jean-Dominique Cassini was a French-Italian astronomer born on June 8, 1625. He is best known for his work in the field of astronomy, particularly for his studies of the planet Saturn. Cassini discovered four of Saturn's moons and the division in its rings, now known as the Cassini Division.
In addition to his discoveries in astronomy, Cassini was a prominent figure in the establishment of the Paris Observatory in France. He contributed to the development of celestial mechanics and made significant advancements in the measurement of the Earth’s circumference, enhancing our understanding of the solar system.
