Javan Lutung
The Javan Lutung, also known as the Javan Langur, is a species of primate native to the island of Java in Indonesia. It is characterized by its long limbs, a distinctive black or dark brown coat, and a long tail. These monkeys primarily inhabit tropical rainforests and are known for their social behavior, often living in groups.
Javan Lutungs are herbivorous, feeding mainly on leaves, fruits, and flowers. They play a crucial role in their ecosystem by aiding in seed dispersal. Unfortunately, their populations are threatened by habitat loss due to deforestation and human encroachment, making conservation efforts essential for their survival.
