Proboscis Monkey
The Proboscis Monkey is a unique primate native to the rainforests of Borneo and Sumatra. It is easily recognized by its large, distinctive nose, which can be particularly prominent in males. These monkeys have a reddish-brown coat and a long tail, which helps them balance while moving through the trees. They primarily feed on leaves, fruits, and seeds.
Living in groups called troops, Proboscis Monkeys are social animals that often engage in playful behavior. They are excellent swimmers, using their webbed feet to navigate rivers and streams. Unfortunately, their habitat is threatened by deforestation and development, leading to a decline in their population.
