Jaragua National Park
Jaragua National Park is located in the southwestern region of the Dominican Republic. Established in 1983, it covers approximately 1,500 square kilometers, making it one of the largest protected areas in the country. The park features diverse ecosystems, including coastal mangroves, dry forests, and coral reefs, providing habitat for various species.
The park is home to several endangered species, such as the Hispaniolan solenodon and the Hispaniolan hutia. It also includes the Lake Enriquillo, the largest lake in the Caribbean, which is known for its unique wildlife.
