Japan Railways Group
The Japan Railways Group, commonly known as JR Group, is a collection of companies that operate the majority of Japan's railway services. Established in 1987, it was formed from the privatization of the Japanese National Railways (JNR). The group consists of several regional companies, each responsible for train services in their respective areas, including JR East, JR West, and JR Central.
The JR Group provides a wide range of transportation options, including local trains, shinkansen (bullet trains), and freight services. It plays a crucial role in Japan's public transportation system, connecting cities and regions efficiently and contributing to the country's economy and daily commuting needs.
