James Stuart, 1st Duke of Richmond
James Stuart, 1st Duke of Richmond was a prominent figure in 17th-century England, born in 1612. He was the son of Henry Stuart, Lord Darnley and Mary, Queen of Scots. James became the Duke of Richmond in 1641 and was known for his loyalty to the monarchy during the English Civil War.
Richmond was also a member of the House of Stuart, which ruled England and Scotland. He played a significant role in royalist politics and was involved in various military campaigns. James died in 1655, leaving behind a legacy tied to the tumultuous events of his time.
