James IV of Scotland
James IV of Scotland was born on March 17, 1473, and became king in 1488 at the age of 15. He was known for his strong leadership and efforts to strengthen the Scottish monarchy. His reign saw the establishment of a more centralized government and improvements in trade and culture.
James IV was also notable for his interest in the arts and education, promoting the Renaissance in Scotland. He formed alliances through marriage, most famously marrying Margaret Tudor, sister of Henry VIII of England, which aimed to secure peace between Scotland and England. His reign ended with his death at the Battle of Flodden in 1513.
