James Gamble
James Gamble was an American businessman and co-founder of the Procter & Gamble company, which is known for its wide range of consumer goods. Born on March 6, 1803, in County Down, Ireland, he immigrated to the United States in 1819. Gamble partnered with William Procter in 1837 to create a soap and candle manufacturing business in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Under their leadership, Procter & Gamble grew significantly, becoming a major player in the consumer products industry. Gamble's innovative approach to business and commitment to quality helped establish the company's reputation, leading to the development of popular brands like Ivory soap and Tide. He passed away on December 29, 1891.
