Jamaican Labour Party
The Jamaican Labour Party (JLP) is one of the two major political parties in Jamaica, founded in 1943. It is a center-right party that traditionally supports free-market policies and private enterprise. The JLP has a strong base among the middle and upper classes and has been influential in shaping the country's economic policies.
The party's symbol is a black, green, and gold flag, representing the national colors of Jamaica. Over the years, the JLP has been led by several prominent figures, including former Prime Minister Andrew Holness, who has served since 2016. The JLP competes primarily with the People's National Party (PNP) in national elections.
