Jacobus Gallus
Jacobus Gallus, also known as Jakob Gallus, was a notable composer from the late Renaissance period, born around 1550 in Bohemia. He is best known for his contributions to choral music, particularly his motets and hymns, which reflect the rich polyphonic style of his time. Gallus spent much of his career in Prague, where he became a prominent figure in the musical community.
