Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm
Jacob Grimm and Wilhelm Grimm were German scholars and linguists, born in the late 18th century. They are best known for their collection of folk tales, titled Grimm's Fairy Tales, which includes famous stories like Cinderella and Hansel and Gretel. Their work has had a significant impact on literature and folklore.
In addition to their fairy tales, the brothers contributed to the study of linguistics and philology. They developed the Grimm's Law, which describes systematic sound changes in the Germanic languages. Their scholarly efforts laid the groundwork for modern linguistics and the study of folklore.
