Jack-Up Rig
A Jack-Up Rig is a type of mobile offshore drilling unit used primarily for oil and gas exploration. It consists of a floating hull with legs that can be lowered to the seabed, allowing the rig to elevate itself above the water surface. This design provides stability and safety for drilling operations in shallow waters.
These rigs are often towed to a drilling site and then jacked up using hydraulic systems. Once in position, they can drill wells into the seabed. Jack-Up Rigs are commonly used in regions like the Gulf of Mexico and the North Sea due to their efficiency and adaptability.
