JS Izumo
JS Izumo is a helicopter carrier of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF). Launched in 2013, it is one of the largest warships in Japan's fleet, designed to support various missions, including humanitarian assistance and disaster relief. The ship can carry up to 14 helicopters and has advanced radar and communication systems.
The Izumo is named after the historical Izumo Province in Japan. It has a full load displacement of approximately 27,000 tons and features a flight deck that allows for vertical takeoff and landing operations. The vessel enhances Japan's maritime capabilities and regional security.
