JLPT N4
The Japanese-Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) N4 is the second level of the five-tiered proficiency test for non-native speakers of Japanese. It assesses the ability to understand basic Japanese used in everyday situations. Candidates are expected to know around 300 kanji and 1,500 vocabulary words, along with basic grammar.
Passing the JLPT N4 indicates that a person can read and understand simple texts and hold basic conversations in Japanese. This level is often a stepping stone for those aiming to reach higher levels, such as N3, which requires a deeper understanding of the language.
