J. D. McClatchy
J. D. McClatchy was an American poet, editor, and literary critic, known for his contributions to contemporary poetry. Born on April 2, 1950, in Birmingham, Alabama, he published several acclaimed poetry collections, including "The Disappearance" and "Hazmat." McClatchy was also recognized for his work as an editor for various literary journals and anthologies.
In addition to his poetry, McClatchy was a professor at Yale University, where he taught English and served as the editor of the Yale Review. He received numerous awards throughout his career, including the O. Henry Award and the Fellowship of the Academy of American Poets. McClatchy passed away on March 10, 2022.
