Robert Bly
Robert Bly was an American poet, author, and activist, born on December 23, 1926, in Minnesota. He gained prominence in the 1960s and 1970s for his work in the New American Poetry movement and is best known for his collection "Silence in the Snowy Fields." Bly's poetry often explores themes of nature, masculinity, and the human experience.
In addition to his poetry, Bly was a key figure in the Men's Movement, advocating for emotional expression and personal growth among men. He also translated works from Norwegian and Swedish literature, contributing to the appreciation of Scandinavian writers in the United States. Bly passed away on November 21, 2021.
