Izmit Clock Tower
The Izmit Clock Tower is a historical landmark located in the city of Izmit, Turkey. Built in 1901, it was designed by the architect Ragıp Bey to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Sultan Abdulhamid II's reign. The tower stands at 18 meters tall and features a unique blend of Ottoman and European architectural styles.
The clock tower is made of stone and has a square base with four clock faces, one on each side. It is situated in Sakarya Park, making it a popular spot for both locals and tourists. The tower has become a symbol of the city and is often featured in photographs and postcards.
