Iwakuni Castle
Iwakuni Castle is a historic Japanese castle located in Iwakuni, Yamaguchi Prefecture. Built in 1608 by Kikkawa Hiroie, it served as a strategic military stronghold. The castle is situated on a hill, offering stunning views of the surrounding area, including the famous Kintai Bridge.
The original structure was dismantled in 1868, but a reconstruction was completed in 1962. Today, Iwakuni Castle is a popular tourist destination, featuring a museum that showcases artifacts from the Edo period. Visitors can access the castle via a ropeway, making it an enjoyable experience for all ages.
