Ivan V
Ivan V was a Russian tsar who ruled from 1682 until his death in 1696. He was born on September 6, 1666, and became co-tsar with his half-brother, Peter the Great, when they were both young. Ivan's reign was marked by the influence of powerful regents, particularly Sophia Alekseyevna, his sister, who effectively controlled the government during his early years.
Ivan V was known for his health issues, which limited his ability to govern. He suffered from various ailments, including a mental disability, which made him less involved in state affairs. After his death, Peter the Great became the sole ruler of Russia, leading significant reforms and modernization efforts.
