Israeli Independence
Israeli Independence refers to the establishment of the State of Israel on May 14, 1948. This event marked the end of the British Mandate for Palestine and the declaration of a Jewish state in the region. The declaration was made by David Ben-Gurion, the head of the Jewish Agency, and was based on the historical connection of the Jewish people to the land.
The declaration of independence led to the 1948 Arab-Israeli War, as neighboring Arab states opposed the creation of Israel. Despite facing significant challenges, the new state managed to survive and establish itself, leading to ongoing conflicts and negotiations in the region.
