Islamic Funeral
An Islamic funeral follows specific traditions rooted in the teachings of Islam. The process begins with the washing of the deceased, known as Ghusl, which is performed by close family members of the same gender. The body is then wrapped in a simple white shroud called Kafan, symbolizing purity and equality in death.
The funeral prayer, or Salat al-Janazah, is held in a mosque or open area, where the community gathers to pay their respects. After the prayer, the body is taken to a cemetery for burial, ideally within 24 hours of death, reflecting the Islamic emphasis on promptness in honoring the deceased.
