Isabella of Cyprus
Isabella of Cyprus (c. 1320–1406) was a queen who ruled the Kingdom of Cyprus. She was the daughter of Henry II of Cyprus and Isabella of Jerusalem. After her father's death, she became queen at a young age, and her reign was marked by political challenges, including conflicts with the Mamluks and internal disputes among the nobility.
Isabella's marriage to Peter I of Cyprus strengthened her position, and together they worked to stabilize the kingdom. After Peter's assassination, Isabella continued to govern, demonstrating resilience and political acumen. Her legacy includes efforts to maintain Cyprus's independence during a tumultuous period in the region.
