Irreecha
Irreecha is an annual festival celebrated by the Oromo people in Ethiopia. It marks the end of the rainy season and the beginning of the harvest. During this time, people gather at lakes and rivers to give thanks for the blessings of the past year and to pray for a prosperous future.
The festival features traditional songs, dances, and rituals. Participants often wear colorful clothing and bring offerings, such as flowers and food, to the water. Irreecha is not only a cultural celebration but also a time for community bonding and reflection on the importance of nature and gratitude.
