Iraqi National Anthem
The Iraqi National Anthem, titled "Mawtini," was adopted in 2004. The lyrics were originally written by the Palestinian poet Ibrahim Touqan in the 1930s, and the music was composed by Mohammed Abdel Wahab. The anthem expresses themes of patriotism, national pride, and the beauty of the Iraqi homeland.
"Mawtini" emphasizes the resilience and unity of the Iraqi people, reflecting their struggles and aspirations. The anthem is often played at official events and ceremonies, serving as a symbol of national identity and solidarity among Iraqis, both within the country and in the diaspora.
