Iowa-Class
The Iowa-Class refers to a class of battleships built for the United States Navy during World War II. These ships were designed for speed and firepower, featuring a displacement of around 45,000 tons and a length of 887 feet. The Iowa-Class battleships were equipped with nine 16-inch guns and could reach speeds of over 30 knots, making them some of the fastest battleships ever constructed.
Four ships were completed in this class: USS Iowa, USS New Jersey, USS Missouri, and USS Wisconsin. They served in various conflicts, including World War II and the Korean War, and were decommissioned in the 1990s. The Iowa-Class remains notable for its advanced technology and significant role in naval history.
