Intrinsic and Extrinsic
Intrinsic motivation refers to engaging in an activity for its own sake, driven by internal rewards. For example, a person might read a book simply because they enjoy the story or want to learn something new. This type of motivation is often linked to personal satisfaction and fulfillment.
Extrinsic motivation, on the other hand, involves performing an activity to earn external rewards or avoid negative outcomes. For instance, a student might study hard to receive good grades or praise from teachers and parents. This motivation is influenced by outside factors rather than personal enjoyment.
