International Nickel Company
The International Nickel Company, often referred to as INCO, was a major producer of nickel and other metals. Founded in 1902, it played a significant role in the global nickel market, particularly through its operations in Canada and the United States. INCO was known for its innovative mining techniques and commitment to sustainability in metal production.
In 2006, INCO was acquired by the Brazilian mining company Vale S.A., which expanded its reach in the nickel industry. The acquisition allowed Vale to enhance its production capabilities and strengthen its position as one of the world's leading nickel producers.
