Intelligence Reform
Intelligence reform refers to changes made to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of a country's intelligence agencies. This often involves restructuring organizations, enhancing communication between agencies, and updating policies to better address national security threats. The goal is to ensure that intelligence operations are more coordinated and responsive to emerging challenges.
In the United States, significant intelligence reform occurred after the September 11 attacks in 2001. The Intelligence Reform and Terrorism Prevention Act was enacted to create the Director of National Intelligence position, which oversees the entire intelligence community. These reforms aimed to prevent future intelligence failures and improve information sharing among agencies.
