Institutional Revolutionary Party
The Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) is a political party in Mexico that was founded in 1929. It played a dominant role in Mexican politics for much of the 20th century, promoting policies aimed at national development and social justice. The PRI was known for its centralized control and ability to adapt to changing political landscapes.
Throughout its history, the PRI faced criticism for authoritarian practices and electoral fraud. However, it also implemented significant reforms in education, land distribution, and labor rights. In the 21st century, the party has struggled to maintain its influence amid rising competition from other parties, such as the National Action Party (PAN) and the Party of the Democratic Revolution (PRD).
