Injo of Joseon
Injo of Joseon was the 16th king of the Joseon Dynasty in Korea, reigning from 1623 to 1649. He came to power after a coup that overthrew his predecessor, Gwanghaegun. Injo's reign was marked by internal strife and external threats, particularly from the Manchu invasions.
During his rule, Injo faced significant challenges, including political factionalism and the devastating effects of the Second Manchu invasion in 1636. His leadership style was often criticized for being indecisive, and his inability to effectively respond to these crises led to a decline in the power and stability of the Joseon state.
