Inferior Nasal
The inferior nasal concha, also known as the inferior turbinate, is a small, curved bone located inside the nasal cavity. It is one of three pairs of nasal conchae, which also include the superior and middle nasal conchae. The primary function of the inferior nasal concha is to help warm, humidify, and filter the air we breathe before it reaches the lungs.
This bone plays a crucial role in the respiratory system by increasing the surface area of the nasal cavity. It is covered with a mucous membrane that traps dust and pathogens, contributing to the body's defense against respiratory infections. The inferior nasal concha is essential for maintaining healthy airflow and overall nasal function.
