Indri lemur
The Indri lemur is a large primate native to the rainforests of Madagascar. It is known for its distinctive black and white fur and its loud, haunting calls that can be heard over long distances. The Indri is the largest living lemur species and can weigh up to 4.5 kilograms (10 pounds).
Indris primarily feed on leaves, fruits, and flowers, and they play a crucial role in their ecosystem by helping to disperse seeds. They are social animals, often living in small family groups. Unfortunately, the Indri is currently classified as endangered due to habitat loss and hunting.
