Indri indri
The Indri indri is a large species of lemur native to the rainforests of Madagascar. It is known for its distinctive black and white fur and its loud, haunting calls that can be heard over long distances. As one of the largest living lemurs, the Indri can weigh up to 10 kilograms and has a unique, short tail.
Indris are primarily herbivorous, feeding on leaves, fruits, and flowers. They are social animals, often found in small family groups. Unfortunately, the Indri is classified as critically endangered due to habitat loss and hunting, making conservation efforts essential for its survival.
