Indonesian legislature
The Indonesian legislature, known as the Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat (DPR), is the country's primary legislative body. It consists of members elected every five years, representing various political parties. The DPR is responsible for making laws, approving the budget, and overseeing the executive branch of the government.
In addition to the DPR, Indonesia has a second chamber called the Dewan Perwakilan Daerah (DPD), which represents regional interests. The DPD focuses on issues affecting local governments and regions, ensuring that diverse voices from across the archipelago are heard in the legislative process.
