Indonesian People's Consultative Assembly
The Indonesian People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) is the highest legislative body in Indonesia. It consists of two chambers: the People's Representative Council (DPR) and the Regional Representative Council (DPD). The MPR is responsible for amending the constitution, establishing national policies, and overseeing the government.
Members of the MPR are elected every five years, with the DPR representing the general population and the DPD representing regional interests. The assembly plays a crucial role in shaping Indonesia's laws and governance, ensuring that both national and regional voices are heard in the legislative process.
