Indonesian National Party
The Indonesian National Party (Partai Nasional Indonesia, PNI) was founded in 1927 as a political organization aimed at achieving Indonesia's independence from colonial rule. It played a significant role in the nationalist movement, advocating for the rights and self-determination of the Indonesian people. The party was led by prominent figures such as Sukarno, who later became Indonesia's first president.
After Indonesia gained independence in 1945, the PNI became one of the major political parties in the country. It focused on promoting nationalism, social justice, and economic development. However, the party faced challenges and underwent various transformations, especially during the political turmoil of the 1960s and the rise of the New Order regime under Suharto.
