Golkar
Golkar is a political party in Indonesia that was established in 1964. Originally formed to support the government of President Suharto, it played a significant role in the country's political landscape during the New Order era. The party's name stands for "Functional Groups," reflecting its initial focus on various professional and social groups in society.
After the fall of Suharto in 1998, Golkar transitioned into a more democratic political party. It has since participated in multiple elections, aiming to represent a broad spectrum of interests and maintain its influence in Indonesian politics.
