Indigenous Peoples of Canada
The Indigenous Peoples of Canada include three main groups: First Nations, Inuit, and Métis. Each group has its own unique cultures, languages, and traditions. They have lived in Canada for thousands of years, long before European settlers arrived.
Indigenous communities are spread across the country, from the Arctic regions inhabited by the Inuit to the diverse nations of the First Nations in the forests and plains. The Métis people, who have mixed Indigenous and European ancestry, have their own distinct identity and culture. Indigenous Peoples continue to play a vital role in Canada's history and society.
