Indiana State Legislature
The Indiana State Legislature is the legislative branch of the state government of Indiana. It is a bicameral body, meaning it has two chambers: the Indiana House of Representatives and the Indiana Senate. Together, these chambers are responsible for creating and passing state laws, as well as approving the state budget.
The legislature meets annually at the Indiana Statehouse in Indianapolis. Each chamber has its own leadership, with the Speaker of the House and the President Pro Tempore of the Senate overseeing their respective bodies. The legislature plays a crucial role in shaping policies that affect the lives of Indiana residents.
