Indian wild ass
The Indian wild ass, also known as the Khur, is a subspecies of the onager found primarily in the arid regions of Gujarat, India. This animal is well-adapted to its harsh environment, featuring a light brown coat and a distinctive white belly. It has long legs and a slender body, allowing it to run swiftly across the desert landscape.
These wild asses are social animals, often seen in small herds. They primarily graze on grasses and shrubs, and their population is concentrated in the Rann of Kutch, a salt marsh area. Conservation efforts are in place to protect this endangered species from habitat loss and poaching.
